Catherine (“Kate”) Corrigan Tompkins
Kate Tompkins is a seasoned financial services attorney with deep expertise in public finance, municipal securities, and complex infrastructure projects.
She currently serves as Senior Counsel at KeyBank, where she advises the Public Sector/Public Finance banking teams on all aspects of municipal securities financings and provides critical regulatory and compliance guidance to internal operations.
Over the course of her distinguished career, Kate has played a pivotal role in some of Northeast Ohio’s most transformative civic projects. Her work as bond counsel has supported major public investments such as the Cuyahoga County Convention Center, the Hilton Cleveland Downtown, the Flats East Bank redevelopment, the redesign of Public Square, and renovations to Progressive Field and Rocket Arena. She also provided counsel on the development of Playhouse Square’s District of Design and Lumen Apartments.
She has been instrumental in shaping innovative public entities and initiatives, including the creation of the Downtown Cleveland Improvement District.
Kate is widely respected for her expertise in managing the legal and regulatory frameworks that drive transformative economic development. She joined Key in 2021 after more than two decades of experience practicing at Squire Patton Boggs. Her work continues to shape the physical and economic landscape of Cleveland and beyond.
