Founded in 1972 by civic leaders including Maxine Goodman Levin, the Cleveland Restoration Society began as a grassroots effort to protect Cleveland’s historic architecture and has since grown into a leading preservation organization serving the entire region. Through advocacy, restoration, and community investment, CRS works to preserve the city’s historic character, with the restored Sarah Benedict House serving as its headquarters since 1999.
