Cleveland’s geographic location is one of its best assets. It is one of the few places where water, rail and highway meet. Ample truck, rail and air connections allow shippers to economically transport their goods between Cleveland and other destinations.
The city lies within close reach of the concentration of the nation’s consumers. Nearly half of all U.S. households, businesses and manufacturing plants are less than an eight-hour drive from Cleveland.
From the Cleveland-Cuyahoga County Port Authority’s main entrance, there is direct access to State Route 2 and interstates 77, 71, 90 and 80 (Ohio Turnpike).
In 2003, the Port Authority opened a new underpass to carry truck traffic in and out of the Port Authority from pedestrians. The underpass will accommodate increased business at the Port Authority and increase the safety of visitors enjoying North Coast Harbor attractions.
