Steven Williams

Steven J. Williams is Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of International Container Systems, LLC and its wholly owned subsidiary Elsons International.  Both Companies provide full service corrugated packaging manufacturing, distribution and contract packaging services to industrial and consumer product companies as well as the U.S. Government.  Established in 1984, both companies are leaders in the packaging industry and have received the Case Western Reserve University Weatherhead 100 Growth Award for five consecutive years.  In 1998, the Greater Cleveland Partnership named the company the “Minority Business Enterprise (MBE) of the Year”.  Steven was recognized by the mayor, governor and CWRU for efforts to improve his local community.

Steven worked for Eaton Corporation from 1977 to 1980 as a production buyer and materials manager.  Steven also worked for The Cleveland Electric Illuminating Company from 1980 to 1984 as a construction buyer supporting the four coal fired generating plants.

Steven graduated from Bowling Green State University in 1977 with a Bachelors of Business Administration and from Baldwin-Wallace College with an Executive MBA in 1984.  Steven received the Baldwin-Wallace College Alumni Association 2006 Alumni Merit Award.

A former trustee of Cuyahoga Community College, Steven has served on over 15 boards and task forces in the area of economic development, youth education, politics and culture.  He was appointed to the Cleveland-Cuyahoga County Port Authority in 2002 and currently holds the office of Vice President.  Steven is also a founding member of the President’s Council which is an organization which promotes growth for African American owned companies located in Northeast Ohio.  The Presidents’ Council was awarded the Governor Award for Supplier diversity in 2002.  Its 501(3) c foundation has garnered over $1 million in grants.

Steven has been recognized numerous times by the Cleveland Plain Dealer, Crain’s Cleveland Business, Kaleidoscope Magazine and the Call & Post Newspaper. Steven is married to Judy R. Williams and they have two children, Lindsay and Steven Jr.
