Anthony R. Moore
Anthony Moore is a partner in the international law firm of Jones Day, resident in its Cleveland office. Since 1893, Jones Day has grown, in response to clients’ needs, from a small Cleveland practice to a global firm with more than 2,300 lawyers in 30 offices around the world. Today, Jones Day is one of the most recognized and respected law firms in the world, counting more than 250 of the Fortune 500 among its clients.
Moore joined Jones Day in 1975 after his graduations from Harvard University and the University of Virginia School of Law. He has been admitted to the Bar of the State of Ohio, and is licensed to practice in the United States District Court for the Northern District of Ohio and the United States Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit.
In more recent years, Moore’s legal practice has specialized in broad areas of business counseling for a variety of public, private and family enterprises, reflecting his substantial expertise and experience in mergers and acquisitions and in other corporate and securities transactions. Moore formerly served Jones Day for numerous years as a member of the Cleveland office’s Hiring Committee, and the Firm’s Committees on Audit Letters, Recruiting, and Legal Opinions. He is a member of the Ohio State Bar Association and the Cleveland Bar Association.
Moore was appointed to the Board of Directors of the Cleveland-Cuyahoga County Port Authority in February 2008 by Cleveland Mayor Frank G. Jackson. After Mayor Jackson’s election in November 2005, Moore joined the Mayor’s Transition Committee, providing advice with respect to the City’s international and lakefront airports.
Additionally, Moore is a member of the Board of Trustees of Ohio Northern University and is Vice Chair of the Audit Committee. He has previously served as a trustee and executive committee member of a number of civic and charitable organizations, both nationally and locally.
