Richard M. Knoth

Dick Knoth practices in the areas of complex commercial litigation, unfair business practices and intellectual property law. He has a wealth of trial experience on behalf of national and international companies in both jury and bench cases in federal and state courts throughout the United States. Mr. Knoth's trial team verdict remains one of the highest trademark/business theft verdicts recorded. In addition to successful results in trial in intellectual property/trade disputes, Mr. Knoth often handles complex constitutional claims and has successfully challenged a very large transfer tax as unconstitutional. As special counsel for the state, he has also successfully defended several tax enactments. Mr. Knoth has also argued many appellate cases throughout the federal and state courts. Given the breadth of his trial experience, Mr. Knoth and his team are often called upon to represent companies undergoing governmental investigations in many areas including advertising, trade practices, antitrust, and corporate governance.

Mr. Knoth is admitted to practice in Ohio, Indiana, Illinois and Texas, as well as several federal courts throughout the United States. He is a member of the Federal, Ohio State and Cleveland Bar Associations. He is a member of the Board of Trustees of VNA Cleveland (Finance Chair, Treasurer), Opera Cleveland and the Beaumont School.
