April 24, 2012 – The Cleveland-Cuyahoga County Port Authority’s Board of Directors agreed today to enter into a partnership with the Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT) to build a highway maintenance facility on a six-acre site in Euclid to house office, garage, and storage facilities for highway repair and snow removal.
April 17, 2012 – The Northeast Ohio Trade & Economic Consortium (NEOTEC) and the Cleveland-Cuyahoga County Port Authority are bringing to town a nationally renowned group of Foreign-Trade Zone (FTZ) experts for a half-day seminar on May 24, 2012, at Firestone Country Club in Akron. The seminar will provide attendees with a solid understanding of the benefits of the Foreign-Trade Zone program and how it can help their companies to be globally competitive.
April 4, 2012 – The Port of Cleveland opened its international shipping season today with a First Ship ceremony celebrating the arrival of the Isadora and the 11,348 tons of steel coils it brought from the Netherlands.
Port CEO Will Friedman and industry stakeholders welcomed Captain Zdzislaw Iwanowski and the crew of the Isadora in a ceremony that is a maritime tradition. The St. Lawrence Seaway System – the waterway connecting the Great Lakes with the Atlantic Ocean – closes each year due to winter conditions. The Seaway reopened again in late March.
